These heroes are unlike anything you’ve seen before. Netflix has announced that Kpop Demon Hunters will premiere on June 27.

Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong) and Zoe (Ji-young Yoo) enjoy their careers as successful musicians. But when they’re not killing it on the stage, they’re spending their time protecting their fans from paranormal threats. The biggest enemy they will face in this new series will be a rival boy band who are actually demons in disguise. No one can be trusted in this animated adventure that will combine the best of Kpop music with non-stop action.

Kpop Demon Hunters will feature original songs written by Danny Chung, IDO, Vince and more talented artists that will allow the genre to flourish on the screen. The project will even feature a song produced by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE.

Netflix is putting it all on the line when it comes to introducing the culture of Kpop to the youngest members of the audiences thanks to Kpop Demon Hunters. The score for the story will be composed by Marcelo Zarvos. By scheduling Kpop Demon Hunters to be released in the middle of the summer, Netflix will be making good use of the school break to lure in new viewers.

Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong and Byung Hun Lee will also be a part of the voice cast for Kpop Demon Hunters. Daniel Dae Kim recently voiced Benja in Raya and the Last Dragon, meaning that the performer has gained plenty of experience with bringing a character to life with only his voice. The actor also portrayed Fire Lord Ozai in Netflix’s live-action iteration of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Ken Jeong has built a career for himself out of playing comedic characters. Beloved productions like Community and The Hangover have allowed audiences to see the actor’s full potential. It’s time for these famous stars to grab the spotlight in Kpop Demon Hunters.
