Geeks of Color is a pop culture media outlet built by and for people of color. We cover film, television, streaming, gaming, anime, and comics through a lens that reflects the audiences those stories are actually made for. We have been doing this work since 2016.

Our mission

We started Geeks of Color because the pop culture conversation was missing a seat at the table. Representation matters, but so does perspective. Our writers, critics, and creators bring lived experience to every review, interview, and feature. We cover the work, the culture around it, and the people making it.

We write for readers who care about real representation, who want to be early on what comes next, and who are tired of generic fan coverage. We have opinions, and we share them.

What we cover

Our coverage spans film, TV, streaming platforms, gaming, anime, comics, and the broader culture that runs through all of it. You will find reviews, interviews, news, opinion pieces, and list features from our team. We show up at press junkets, red carpets, premieres, and industry events, and we bring that access back to our readers.

We also cover the creators behind the work. That means long-form interviews with directors, writers, actors, voice talent, showrunners, and game developers who are shaping what gets made and how those stories get told. When a project matters to our audience, we find a way to cover it from the inside.

Accreditations

Geeks of Color is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved publication (source #3033) and an accredited member of the African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA). Several of our writers hold Tomatometer-approved critic status, which means their reviews count toward the official Tomatometer score.

Where we are
