Jon M. Chu and Ken Jeong Reuniting on Netflix Stand-Up Special
Crazy Rich Asians is still pulling big numbers at the box office, but Ken Jeong is already working on his next assignment.
The comedian has just signed a Netflix deal for a new Stand-Up Special and it’s been confirmed that Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu will be helming the project.
The current standing title for the special is Ken Jeong: First Date where Jeong will reflect on his journey from doctor to comedy and how his wife’s battle with breast cancer eventually led to him starring in the 2009 hit, The Hangover.
Filming of the special is expected to take place on September 15 at the Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena; the very place where Jeong got his start.
“I am thrilled to work with Jon again,” Jeong stated, “His brilliant cinematic eye will capture the energy and excitement of my first stand-up special.”
