Casting for the Avatar sequels continue as last we heard that Cliff Curtis from AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead had a role.  Joining him now is HBO’s Game of Thrones Oona Chaplin.

While the plot of the franchise is currently under wraps, it has been hinted that Chaplin’s role will be a major part.  Her character is named Varang who is described to be a “vibrant central character who spans the entire saga of the sequels.”

Director James Cameron has stated that each of the upcoming sequels will hold their own stories and are sure to be amazing.  With four sequels coming up scattered throughout the foreseeable future, it will be interesting to see what these upcoming films will have in store for new and returning fans.

Chaplin will be cast alongside Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver and Sam Worthington who are all reprising their roles from the first Avatar film.
