‘Black Panther’ Rakes In $25.2 Million in Thursday Night Preview Screenings
Black Panther is officially in theaters today but yesterday was the night for Thursdays preview screenings and the film’s box office intake for preview night, did not disappoint.
The Ryan Coogler directed film, brought in a whopping $25.2 million domestically, setting it up to be the second best Thursday preview opening for an MCU film to-date; just behind Avengers: Age of Ultron, which brought in $27.6 million back in 2015.
Of the tickets sold, roughly $3 million were for IMAX screenings and Black Panther has already seen more IMAX previews than any other Marvel film, according to IMAX CEO, Greg Foster.
