Oscar Nominations 2018: ‘The Shape of Water’ Leads with 13 Nominations, ‘Get Out’ Nominated for Best Picture
The Oscar nominations were announced this morning at an ungodly time, 5:20am PST/8:20am EST. The Academy certainly wants to make this an unforgettable event. This morning’s nominations were hosted by the loveable Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis.
The main show will be airing March 4th, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting the biggest awards ceremony. The winners for the major acting categories seem clear, but there may be some surprises in other categories. The Shape of Water earned 13 nominations. Get Out and Lady Bird were not shut out, earning nominations in the acting categories, Best Director, and Best Picture! Rachel Morrison became the first woman to be nominated for Best Cinematography.
