Jorge Lendeborg Jr. Cast As Male Lead For ‘Bumblebee’ Transformers Spinoff

Bumblebee has found its male lead.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals today that Jorge Lendeborg Jr., who made his first appearance in Spiderman: Homecoming, has been cast opposite Hailee Steinfeld in the Bumblebee, the Transformers spinoff directed by Kubo and the Two Strings’ Travis Knight.

What has been reported so far is that Lendeborg Jr. will be the main male lead for the film, which focuses on Bumblebee, “the yellow and black striped Autobot that appears as one of the main characters in the Transformers film series”. THR reports that only Steinfeld’s character has been revealing, stating that she is  “a tomboy who also holds a job as a mechanic after school”.

The film’s main plot is still under wraps, with sources speculating that it will be taking place ten years before the first Transformers film. This will be the first spinoff film in the Transformers Cinematic Universe.

Bumblebee has been set to premiere June 8, 2018.
