Since news broke that Joss Whedon will be directing a Batgirl standalone film, the fan casts have begun (with Emma Stones aplenty) but this latest rumour is one that most people probably didn’t peg.
Lask week, The 100 star, Lindsey Morgan posted a cryptic tweet about an upcoming project that she is, “more than ecstatic about” and lo-and-behold, a few short weeks later it’s announced that we are getting a Batgirl movie.

Sure, you may say that’s a stretch but Morgan also retweeted Variety’s article about Joss Whedon directing the upcoming project.

I mean, I don’t like to start any gossip…but you have to admit, all of this is very interesting.
As the film is most likely only in its developmental stages, it’s safe to see that casting won’t be officially announced for a while. However, we will most definitely keep you updated!
