Witches are back in action in the MCU with the release of Agatha All Along

Ahead of the series’ release, I had the chance to chat with cast members Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, and Debra Jo Rupp about their experience filming Agatha All Along. We discussed working on this series, creating the bond for their coven, surviving (or not surviving) an escape room, and much more!

When I chatted with the trio, they were a day removed from their performance at D23.

“Oh, it was like being rock stars! It was amazing,” Ahn said.

Zamata chimed in with, “Yeah! We’re in an actual stadium full of fans, and it was kind of intimidating, but also, we’ve created such a groove with the song, like when we sing the song, the energy I get from the rest of the cast feels so good. So it really did feel like just performing with the rest of the cast.”

“And there was so much energy and love coming our way. So it was really just like the most supportive way that you could go perform for 12,000 or however many people were there,” Ahn shared.

One of the standout elements of Agatha All Along is the sisterhood and bonds that develop through the episodes. The cast admits this came naturally to them.

Ahn told me, “It came pretty naturally. I think everyone was so generous and came really open hearted, and we were all so excited and honored to be working with Jac, and these scripts were so wonderful, which I think helps everyone’s game.”

“It was a really generous group of people, like everybody gave – you know, whatever you need, whatever, you know? It was a lovely experience,” Rupp shared.

Be sure to catch Ali Ahn, Sasheer Zamata, and Debra Jo Rupp when the first two episodes of Agatha All Along hit Disney+ on September 18.
