Audiences have been waiting well over two years for the return of Natasha Lyonne as Charlie Cale. The protagonist of this story can tell when someone is telling a lie, which makes her the perfect candidate to solve mysteries that involve plenty of suspects. The first trailer for the second season of Poker Face focuses on the new faces that will be joining Natasha Lyonne in the next installment of the comedy produced by Peacock. John Mulaney, Sam Richardson and Katie Holmes will be some of the stars who will be seen once Charlie returns to television.
The second season of Poker Face has recruited plenty of familiar faces to keep audiences entertained while Charlie puts her special abilities to good use. Giancarlo Esposito has been cast in an undisclosed role. The actor is popular for portraying villains in stories such as The Mandalorian, The Boys and Breaking Bad. And after shocking the world with her performance as Elphaba in Wicked, Cynthia Erivo will join the thrills of the next installment of the mystery series.
Poker Face was created by Rian Johnson. The filmmaker behind Star Wars: The Last Jedi has developed a fascination with mysteries after working on the Knives Out franchise. While Benoit Blanc’s (Daniel Craig) adventures tend to be dramatic, the tone of the showallows the filmmakers behind the series to have some fun with the detective genre. Natasha Lyonne’s protagonist has to look out for herself while making fun of the liars who attempt to outsmart her in Peacock’s smash hit comedy. The stage has been set for Charlie Cale to uncover new conspiracies after two years of keeping audiences waiting for her return.
The second season of Poker Face premieres on Peacock on May 8.
