Prime Video’s The Wheel of Timeis coming back with Season 3! To celebrate, Geeks of Color was lucky enough to sit down with some of the cast and crew of this popular, beloved fantasy series to chat about the latest season.

The series, based on author Robert Jordan’s acclaimed series of novels, has grown in popularity since its debut in 2021. This is because with every season, the series’ characters have significantly evolved, as the story has gotten closer and closer to matching its literary counterpart in terms of quality and complexity.

We had the wonderful pleasure of sitting with star Natasha O’Keeffe and Showrunner Rafe Judkins to chat all about the new season.

Check out the full interview with Natasha O’Keeffe and Rafe Judkins below:

Audiences met O’Keeffe’s character last season, and the character is definitely a favourite because she’s a wild card. So, we wanted to know from O’Keeffe, what it’s been like to play this kind of character.

“When you go up for a role like that…I really wanted to get this part. So, I was very grateful when bracing to do some manipulation…Stepping into that is a lot of fun, as you say, but in this season, I think what’s also interesting is we’re going to dig a little bit deeper into her more as a human. And understand her complexities a little bit more; where she’s coming from. So yeah, and more extravagant costumes,” O’Keeffe shared.

Judkins added, “Well, she’s always gonna have something great to wear to whatever scene she’s going into. They always look good…it was something we really wanted in the adaptation. We actually had, you know, Natasha, come to Prague and do a chemistry read with Josha, because…sometimes in the book, you don’t necessarily believe the truth of the relationship between Rand and Lanfear. You kind of feel like he’s a child being manipulated by a much older woman. And we wanted to see these two in person and really feel like you could believe this. You could want them to be together.”

Judkins continued, “And I think in season three, we dig into that even more deeply…what really works about the relationship between Rand and Lanfear. Because there are things that really work about it and for both of them. And I think the deeper you kind of dive into that, the more you start to see them as a real couple.”

There are many things to digest and unpack in Season 3 of The Wheel of Time. We wanted to see what single word O’Keeffe and Judkins would use to describe the latest season.

Judkins said, “I would say, homecoming. Everyone is having a home summoning of some kind this season.”

O’Keeffe followed up with, “I would say, torn.”

New episodes of Season 3 of The Wheel of Time are now streaming on Prime Video!
