As of last night, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has become Sony’s most successful movie ever, topping Spider-Man 2, 007, Men In Black and more, with $403.714 million at the domestic box office. In the worldwide box office, Jumanji made $950 million, making it the 42nd highest grossing film in history.
To celebrate this milestone, Mr Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson celebrated through his Instagram account while promoting his newest film Rampage in London.
In the post, the Jumanji star and producer thanked the fans and the audience for the accomplishment, while announcing that they will begin working on the sequel, even poking fun at Kevin Hart’s character in the film and “promising” to kill him off.
A few months ago it had been revealed that they were planning a sequel, but it was after the announcement of this milestone that The Rock has officially confirmed the production team is already writing the sequel, with the possibility of all the cast coming back.
