Last night, “Hollywood’s party of the year” occurred at the Beverly Hilton: The Golden Globe Awards.
Hosted by comedian and nominee Nikki Glaser, the show was filled with laughs and surprises as the night went on. The films and shows that were the biggest winners of the evening were The Brutalist, Emilia Pérez, Hacks, and Shōgun.
The Brutalist and Emilia Pérez walked away with the most hardware for the film categories on Sunday evening.
Emilia Pérez, which led the film categories going into the award show with 10 nominations, won big Sunday night.

Despite valid criticism of the film, the team behind it walked away with awards for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Motion Picture Non-English Language, Best Original Song for “El Mal,” and Zoe Saldaña won her first Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her performance in the Netflix film.
The Brutalist won several Golden Globes, including Brady Corbet for Best Director, Adrien Brody for Best Performance by a Male Actor in Motion Picture – Drama, and Best Motion Picture – Drama.
Demi Moore also became a first-time Golden Globe winner, walking away with the win for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her role in The Substance. During her acceptance speech, Moore recounted being in the industry for 45 years and how a producer once told her she was just a “popcorn actress.” Well, jokes on that producer because Moore is better than ever in The Substance and deserves all the accolades coming her way.

Sebastian Stan won a Golden Globe Award for his work in A Different Man. Stan was the recipient of the globe for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
Rounding out the acting categories were Kieran Culkin, who won Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for A Real Pain, and Fernanda Torres, who made history as the first Brazilian actress to win the Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for her work in I’m Still Here.
Hacks and Shōgun won big in the television categories, winning Best Series in their respective comedy and drama categories.

Upon winning the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Comedy, Jean Smart joked, “I never thought I’d be so happy to be called a hack.” This was Smart’s third nomination and second win at the Golden Globes.
Shōgun actors Tadanobu Asano, Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai took home Gold Globes for their critically acclaimed FX series performances. It was the first Golden Globe Award win for all three actors, marking a momentous occasion for the trio.
It is just the beginning of the Awards Season, and it is exciting to see what the following shows will bring us and who will walk away with more statues in the coming weeks and months.
