Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has recently become one of the most popular anime! The second season is well under way and continues to charm audiences with its exciting adventure.

I got the chance to speak with the English voice cast of the beloved anime. Mallorie Rodak, Jill Harris, and Jordan Dash Cruz all bring unique flare to their roles. They spoke to me about when they knew Frieren was special, how the themes of community hit harder today, and plenty more.

Check out the full interview with Mallorie Rodak, Jill Harris & Jordan Dash Cruz below:

When asked about when they knew Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End would be big, Rodak starts off by recounting when she first got the titular role of Frieren herself.

Rodak said, “I immediately go to Google to see what are people saying about the show, and there was already a fanbase of manga readers who were totally hype about the anime! All the right pieces were in place- Studio Madhouse doing the animation, Evan Call doing the soundtrack; people got the sense that this was going to be something big.”

Jill Harris, who plays the human mage, Fern, chimed in, “I just started seeing clips of the dub, specifically, trending on Twitter and going viral. Usually, when I see clips of show it’s in Japanese, so I was like ‘Oh they’re listening to me, specifically?’ That was really cool.”

I got the chance to ask Jordan Dash Cruz why he thinks Stark’s contributions to the party may have more to do with his kindness and friendliness, than his warrior status.

Cruz said, “He’s always trying to be helpful, he’s great with kids, he cares about his party members, and yes, he can have a big personality from time to time. I think that balances out Frieren and Fern, and the quietness they bring. But at the end of the day, he always pulls himself together and is reliable. I think that’s the biggest part of his personality, is they know they can trust him cause he’s always there.”

You can watch Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End on Crunchyroll.
