A Word From the Geeks of Color Family #BlackLivesMatter

The Geeks of Color Family would like the Floyd family to know we are deeply saddened upon hearing about the murder of George Floyd. We send our deepest condolences and prayers for healing grace.

Please know the Geeks of Color Family will stand beside the Floyd family as they fight for justice. We will use our platform to amplify the voices of the family and those who seek to fight against injustice. We can do better if we all stand together as one and fight against the cruel, inhumane police treatment that continues to kill our brothers and sisters.

The city officials of Minneapolis must work diligently, fairly, and honestly side-by-side to ensure the circumstances surrounding George Floyd’s death are investigated with the utmost integrity, and that the officers responsible for his killing will no longer be free to kill another innocent person.

There are many officers that display constant bigotry and hate for minorities. They can no longer be allowed to treat our communities inhumanely. These officers cannot be allowed to continuously abuse their power and we call for it to be stopped, immediately. The entire racist judicial system needs to be dismantled and drastic changes must be made in order to ensure Black people are protected.

The Geeks of Color Family ask all reading this to respond with ideas, suggestions, and other established group information that has already been set up to fight against the injustice. This way we can all join together, get on board and stand up for justice.

I thank everyone in advance for taking time out of your day to read this message and honor the memory of George Floyd. Please pray for his family and loved ones.

If you are protesting, please be safe and make sure to be wary of your surroundings. Also, fuck Donald Trump.
