Get ready Diablo fans. Netflix has plans to turn your beloved game into a new animated series for their streaming network.

Founder of Boom! Studios Andrew “Andy” Cosby tweeted that he’s in “final talks” to write and show-run the upcoming series and that “It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out.” Cosby is the man behind the Hellboy reboot and we can expect that he will be bringing that same kind of gory and violent expectations to the Diablo series as well.

Diablo was first released on December 31, 1996 and has two other parts: Diablo II which was released in 2000, and Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer that was released last year in 2017. As of 2012, before the third installment was out, the series had already sold over 24.8 million copies worldwide and that number has surely jumped even higher since then.

The series is set in the fantasy realm of Sanctuary and focuses on the battle between humans and the demons lead by Diablo, the Prime Evils. The series also includes books and comics that further explain the world of Sanctuary.

Are you excited for Diablo? Have you played any of the games? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
