It’s official, Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil will debut its third season before the end of 2018, continuing the story of Matt Murdock and his fight for Hell’s Kitchen.

It’s been known for a while that a third season was on its way, especially taking into account what happened at the end of The Defenders, as filming began in late 2017, with the announcement that Wilson Fisk was set to return.

Many suspected Daredevil wouldn’t be returning until early 2019, as Netflix hadn’t said anything about the series. However, there’s no need for those doubts anymore, as, during Netflix’s Q2 earnings call, CFO David Wells confirmed that Daredevil is indeed returning in the second half of 2018.

“I have got the great pleasure of trying to make people very happy and in the short term we’ve got new seasons coming up the second half of this year of Orange Is The New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series for Making a Murderer.”

Even though he did not mention the exact date the series will premiere, it certainly shows us that Netflix’s interest on its Marvel properties hasn’t decreased, despite what many suspect.

As a bonus, this news marks 2018 as the first year where four out of the five Netflix Marvel premiered (Jessica Jones season 2 premiered in March; Luke Cage season 2 premiered in June; Iron Fist debuts next month; and now Daredevil season 3 is expected to premiere in the upcoming months).
