Game Of Thrones, Rick and Morty, and True Detective all have one thing in common. These shows all decided to skip 2018 due to their filming schedules. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it sure left fans in an awkward position. What to watch until 2019? Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if one was planning on watching the third season of Stranger Things to supplement their show shortage then they are in bad luck. The third season of the hit Netflix original has now too been delayed until 2019.

This confirmation comes from Beverly Hills at the Television Critics Association’s press tour this past Sunday. Entertainment Weekly is reporting the news directly from programming executive Cindy Holland who spoke at the event. Even though it was unfortunate to confirm that Stranger Things will not be returning until summer 2019, she did assure that this wait will not go unrewarded.

“It’s a handcrafted show. The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy, they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than last year. I think it’s going to be a fantastic season. It will be worth the wait.”

It sure is nice to hear that the creatives behind the Netflix original are taking precious steps leading into the next season. Holland also confirmed that season three will have more effects than previously seen on the show. She added this is just one of the reasons why the new episodes will take more time to finish.

In the meanwhile, one can check out this nifty teaser for season three featuring a new mall in Hawkins. Maybe you will get to see a few familiar faces?
