It’s been 10 years since Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight made its way onto the big screen. The Dark Knight was a comic book film that broke new ground and shot select sequences with IMAX film cameras, making it the first major feature to utilize IMAX 70MM film.

In an announcement made today by Jeff Goldstein, President Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. will commemorate the 10-year anniversary of The Dark Knight by bringing the film to four select IMAX locations for an exclusive one-week engagement, beginning August 24, 2018.

The special limited engagement screenings will show the film the way it was intended to be seen in 70MM IMAX, offering a uniquely immersive experience.  Tickets for the opening day go on sale this Friday (July 20, 2018) with showtimes only being announced for August 24; with theaters adding additional showtimes closer to release.

The limited engagement screenings will be shown for one screening a day at the following North American theaters:

AMC Universal Citywalk IMAX, Universal City

AMC Lincoln Square IMAX, New York City

AMC Metreon IMAX, San Francisco

Ontario Place Cinesphere IMAX, Toronto

Directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Heath Ledger as the Joker (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor), The Dark Knight remains one of the most beloved and popular comic book films in cinematic history.
