Idris Elba to Star and Direct Netflix’s Adaptation of ‘Hunchback of Notre Dame’
It has been recently reported that award-winning actor Idris Elba will be starring in Netflix’s take of the novel Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo. Elba is slated to star as the hunchback Quasimodo.
Additionally, Elba will be set to direct the adaptation under Green Door production. He made his directorial debut with Yardie at this year’s Sundance Festival. iNot only that, he’ll be helping produce the film score. There will be original music for this film, which has been described as a “sonic and musical experience.”

The most famous adaptation of the novel comes from Disney’s 1996 animated film with the same title. The story follows the hunchback Quasimodo who lives in Notre Dame and later falls in love with Esmeralda.
