Over the last few months, Activision has been trickling out announcements about what features will set Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 apart from other games in the series. In its quarterly earnings call, Activision revealed some of its plans for the series and reported on the company’s success.

On the call, Activision announced that they would be putting “community and engagement first, giving players more of the gameplay features and modes that they love and bringing all of it to players earlier than ever before in October.”

Specifically, Activision has “invested in significant dedicated resources and design time to make sure we can deliver a great PC game to serve that community.” With that in mind, PC players should be on the lookout for new features and an emphasis on the game’s multiplayer mode.

On the call, they also acknowledge the impact that Battle Royale games, especially Fortnite, have had on the development process. Though this isn’t an official confirmation, this echoes rumors for earlier in April when information leaked that Black Ops 4 wouldn’t have a campaign, and instead would have a Battle Royale-like game mode.

For now, that’s the most information we have about Black Ops until the official worldwide announcement on May 17. Does the call sound promising to you, or are you skeptical about how Black Ops 4 will turn out? Let us know in the comments!
