YA Fantasy Novel “A Court of Thorns and Roses” Headed To The Big Screen

Sarah J. Maas’s novel will be next to receive the film adaptation treatment.

Deadline reports that Maas’s fantasy novel A Court of Thorns and Roses has been picked up by Constantin Film. The German production company is known to produce work such as The Baader Meinhof Complex, the Resident Evil franchise, and Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. Constantin Film will be working with Piers Tempest and Jo Bamford’s Tempo Entertainment on this project.

The Beauty and the Beast-esque fantasy drama tells the story of Feyre, who finds herself entwined with faeries after unknowingly killing one. When the 19-year-old huntress kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin, one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world. Feyre must find a way to stop it or doom Tamlin and his world forever.

Sarah J. Maas also shared a statement about her excitement for the upcoming project.

I’m tremendously excited to be working with Constantin and Tempo Productions on bringing these books to life. This team is so passionate about adapting Feyre’s journey for the big screen, and I can’t wait to see how everything comes together.”
