Epic Games has announced that it is developing a mobile version of its popular free-to-play multiplayer game Fortnite Battle Royale.  iOS users will be able to sign up in order to receive early invites to the game upon the release of the early version; Android support will come after.

The development team has stated that the mobile game will have the “same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates,” much similar to the 100-player mode on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.

The mobile version will offer cross-play, with users being able to queue games across the other platforms while maintaining their progress.  iOS users will also be able to battle Android users once that version is released.  However, PC and PS4 players will not be able to jump into mobile lobbies.

In the next few months, Epic Games will be inviting a handful of players as part of the invite process.  You can register on the game’s website to get on the mailing list and hope for a chance.  Those who get an invite will be able to send the link to their friends.  This whole process will begin on March 12.
