Regina Hall, who you might recognize from the hit movie Girl’s Trip has been cast opposite Don Cheadle (House of Lies, Iron Man 2) and Andrew Rannells (Girls) in Showtime’s upcoming comedy pilot Ball Street. The pilot will be directed by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (Preacher) and it was written by David Caspe and Jordan Cahan. All four of them will executive produce the project, which will be a collaboration between Showtime and Sony.

The comedy will focus on “Black Monday”, when the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street occurred October 19th, 1987—which to this day nobody knows who or what caused it. Ball Street will showcase the story of how outsiders managed to stand up to Wall Street and crashed the world’s largest financial system. Other cast members include Kurt Braunohler (The Big Sick), and Eugene Cordero (Kong: Skull Island), as well as  Paul Scheer (The Disaster Artist).

Said group of outsiders will be led by Cheadle’s character Rod “The Jammer” Jaminski, and will be made up of Hall’s character Dawn—-worth noting she is the only woman on the team—-Keith (Scheer) and Ronnie (Cordero). The show was originally developed 4 years ago, but it wasn’t until last fall that it was picked up by Showtime and was put on fast-track development for 2018. The show is set to start production later this month.
