In this exclusive first peek, the Grey’s Anatomy alum is handling knives in a different way.. sort of. But this time, instead of holding a blade to make an incision, the character is held at knife-point as Eve Shaw.

Killing Eve is a mini series written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (who is also the star of Amazon’s Fleabag) based on the novels by author Luke Jennings. The series centers around Eve Shaw, who is described as a “bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy,” (courtesy of TCAs). Also in the center is and holding the knife against Shaw’s neck is Villanelle (Jodie Comer), a “mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her.”

This will be Oh’s first time as a series regular since rearing from Grey’s Anatomy, and discusses at the TCAs the differences between Shaw and surgeon Cristina Yang.

“I feel very much in a completely different and separate world with Killing Eve. I was really happy for the departure. They’re both determined characters. But… [Eve] doesn’t have things under control. You see her even in the first two episodes how she’s quite insecure and how she’s not found her voice, and that’s what initially gravitated me to this project. Also how my character is intricately involved with Villanelle and whatever that might mean, that you’re constantly in this tone and style of the thriller that it’s so different I don’t necessarily have those character comparisons at all.”
