Starz has announced that it will air the series The Continental, which is set in the world of the John Wick films.

The show will revolve around the hotel that assists the assassins it caters to.

Chris Collins (The Wire) is set to write and act as showrunner. Basil Iwanyk (John Wick), Chad Stahelski (John Wick: Chapter Two), Derek Kolstad, David Leitch (John Wick) and Keanu Reeves will executive produce.

Stahelski, who recently directed Deadpool 2, is helming the first episode. He discussed how the movies and TV series will co-exist in the same universe with Collider.

“They’ve got a really good structure. It’s very tied to the film [in that] it’s about the Continentals all over the world, how certain people come into that world, and what happens in relation to those people, which is cool,” he said.

“I think the world is very vast, and everything I’ve heard from it is very positive. It’s something that studio seems very, very intent on and very, very behind,” he continued. “You can be with the consigliere, concierge, the sommelier — you can be with all these different characters and walk through the world in different aspects; ones that I’m a little limited [from exploring] by staying with my lead guy.”

The Continental doesn’t have a premiere date yet, though production may happen this year for a 2019 debut.
