Yet again, another game has mistakenly been listed on its supposed release date before any official announcements have been made. Earlier this week, God of War was put on the PlayStation store briefly, with the release date March 22, 2018 attached.

After the date was caught and circulated online, someone at Sony quickly took down the date and changed the new release date to December 31, 2018. Judging by how much we know of the game so far (and the demos shown already at E3), it’s safe to say that this date is just a placeholder.

Sony’s PlayStation Experience event, which happens this Friday, will probably hold some more details about God of War’s release date, and a few more anticipated PlayStation releases. If March 22 is God of War’s real release date, we can probably expect to see more gameplay footage this week.

The sequel takes place after the third game, and will feature Kratos and his son. What are you hoping to see in the new God of War? Let us know in the comments!

  1. I hope this is real! I think this may start a new trilogy with his son taking up his mantle in the sequel to this one
