Though its Godzilla has just premiered, Netflix announced that it is already planning a sequel that will feature Mecha Godzilla

Godzilla: Kessen Kidou Zoushoku Toshi’s is also produced by Toho Animation and creative team has Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita co-directing. Gen Urobuchi is writing the script and working on the music with Yusuki Kozaki. Toho will release the new film in Japanese theaters before it hits Netflix.

Mecha Godzilla is one of the monster’s most famous villains and has been seen in several projects throughout the franchise.

Planet of the Monsters follows Earth’s last survivors as they try to reclaim the planet from the monsters ruling it.

Yuuki Kaji, Takahiro Sakurai, Mamoru Miyano, Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, and Tomokazu Sugita round out the voice cast when Godzilla: Kessen Kidou Zoushoku Toshi arrives May 2018.
