AMC’s New York Comic-Con panel was filled with teases and surprises, but none so surprising as Robert Kirkman revealing The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead have a crossover in the works. Kirkman shared the following with the audience (via CBR):

“We want these shows to have their own legs and have their own stories and be their own. There are two ‘Walking Dead’ shows. There is one character that is going to go from one show — that I will not name — and appear in the other show — that I will not name.”

For years, the creatives behind TWD’s television universe have said such an event would likely never be a possibility. Fear, which is set on the West Coast, opens its first season just as the sickness begins to spread. TWD, taking place in Georgia, shifts viewers through a bit of a time jump early on.

How the two will cross has yet to receive clarification. To amplify the excitement, though, AMC has released a teaser image for the impending crossover.
