It’s been ten years since the release of Rush Hour 3, and even though the film didn’t quite live up to the box office success of its predecessors, it still provided us with the Chan/Tucker banter we all know and love and gave us what we thought would be the end of a successful trilogy. Not Anymore. Jackie Chan has officially confirmed that we can expect to see Chief Inspector Lee and Detective James Carter team up on the big screen once again in the next edition to the franchise, Rush Hour 4.

While promoting his new film The Foreigner, Chan answered a question to a fan where he said:

“Good news. Next year, Rush Hour 4, and I hope the script done. And day after tomorrow we meet the director and Chris Tucker again to make sure we go the right track.”

The director has yet to be confirmed, but Brett Ratner was the man who directed the first three films and if both Tucker and Chan are coming back, it would make sense for him to return to the project as well. The video of Chan confirming it can be seen here.

CBS attempted to turn the film series into a tv show last year, but it was canceled only two months later, receiving poor reviews and showing that without Chan and Tucker at the helm of it, it just doesn’t work.
