It’s about that time folks! Fall television is back, Halloween is almost here, Thanksgiving is soon to follow and zombies are headed back to your tv screens. The Walking Dead‘s last season started and ended off on a bang and now, the war has begun.

Those familiar with TWD comics knows that an all out war is brewing between Rick & Negan and it’s about damn time! Last month the series creator, Robert Kirkman, confirmed the war story for season 8 and that the show’s pace would be faster than the past few seasons. Now, we have show runner Scott Gimple confirming the season’s faster pace and inclusion of more characters per episode. Check out what Gimple had to say about the upcoming season:

“Because of the narrative that we’re following … the story this season is really spread out among all of the characters. And the story shifts quite a bit in single episodes between lots of different characters on a consistent basis, which is a little more unusual for the show.”

Scott went on to say,

“We’ll see characters affect one another that we haven’t seen affect one another before, or even just thrown together that we haven’t seen thrown together, It’s been really satisfying.”

The show will definitely benefit from a faster pace this season as some episodes last season that focused on one character didn’t drive the show’s plot forward in any way and just seemed like a waste. But with a faster pace, does that mean more deaths? Of course it does and I’m not ready!

The Walking Dead‘s 8th season drops on Sunday, October 22nd only on AMC!
