As if we didn’t already need February to be here months ago, so that we could witness what is sure to be one of the MCU’s most glorious films, Black Panther, there are even more reasons to be excited for the upcoming film.

The latest footage from from the movie was shown to the Hall H audience at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend and received excited praise from the audience, as well as the cast and crew.

Michael B. Jordan, who plays Killmonger in the movie was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly after the Black Panther panel at SDCC and told EW about the relationship between he and Chadwick Boseman’s character, T’Challa.

Jordan likened it to a very familiar relationship in the X-men comics/films:

“Me and T’Challa have two totally different approaches to the throne as well and you see those two opposing sides clash. So you can call it a Magneto/Professor X type of chemistry. That’s all I can give away.”

It’s always  interesting when the protagonist and villain share a similar bond and yet find themselves at odds with one another in how to achieve their shared goals. It will be very interesting to see how the dynamic between T’Challa and Killmonger resonates on the big screen.

This comparison just reiterated that I needed this movie yesterday! What do you think – are you interested in the Xavier/Magneto type of relationship between T’Challa and Killmonger? Let us know in the comment section below.
