To the dismay of many, Calista Flockhart’s Cat Grant didn’t receive much screentime during Supergirl’s second season. After the show’s network change from CBS to The CW, Flockhart wasn’t readily available for production in Vancouver. During the Season 2 finale, Cat Grant returned; it won’t be the last we see of her.

The series’ new showrunners, Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner, told EW ahead of Supergirl’s #SDCC2017 panel that The Queen of All Media will appear in the Season 3 premiere. Additionally, Cat Grant is set to have a recurring role throughout Supergirl’s third run.

Hyping the character’s return, Melissa Benoist teased, “the way that Calista appears in the first episode is really clever.” Could it potentially top her showing up on Air Force One alongside Lynda Carter’s character, the President? Fans will get to judge for themselves when Supergirl Season 3 begins airing on Tuesday, October 9.

In what ways do you think the show will manage to top themselves with Cat Grant’s return? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments below.
