Tony Revolori Hoping For ‘Agent Venom’ Film in Future
We are practically one week away from the release of the collaborative effort between Marvel and Sony Studios, Spider-Man: Homecoming. As the release date draws near, the studio can’t help but give fans small clues as to how the franchise will expand in the future. A Venom film has already been announced and will star Tom Hardy, a Black Cat and Silver Sable team up has been announced and it’s also been reported that Carnage may make his film debut in the Venom movie as well. It seems that Sony and Marvel are hard at work trying make the Spider-Man world as immaculate as it can be. Now, another Spider-Man actor is hoping that another character will make its film debut.
While speaking with Inverse, Tony Revolori who is playing Flash Thompson in Spider-Man: Homecoming has expressed interest in portraying Agent Venom in the future. Check out his comment below:
“If there was an Agent Venom movie, of course, I would love to do it. Hopefully they tap me if they ever actually go that route”
In the comics, Revolori’s character Flash Thompson bullies Peter Parker in high school. Then Flash ends up going to the army but unfortunately loses his legs and then becomes Agent Venom.
“I love that in the comics, he grows from this bully to somebody who can change. Much like the actual Venom symbiote, he changes to become a good person. I think that’s what’s so wonderful about Flash, that the possibility for change is there for anyone. That’s what he represents and what I’d love to portray. He gains what he got from Spider-Man, which is this sense of responsibility.”
This is Sony’s third attempt at a reboot for this franchise and with them collaborating with Marvel Studios who at this point are experts at building a cohesive and believable cinematic universe, the possibilities for Revolori’s character to have the same arc that he did in the comics is definitely a possibility. Would you be excited to see Flash Thompson become Agent Venom? Do you think Revolori has what it takes to pull it off? Let us know in the comments below.
