The highly anticipated Injustice 2 was released only last week, and it’s already receiving great reviews from critics and currently holds a score of 87% on PlayStation 4 and 88% on Xbox One. The game continues the story established in Injustice: Gods Among Us, but takes place in the alternate, dystopian universe where Batman is forced to consider freeing the previously imprisoned Superman to help combat the new threats. In addition to the returning characters from the first game, you can also play as Captain Cold, Poison Ivy, Black Canary, and Supergirl. And we are now learning about one more character who unfortunately didn’t make the final version: Static Shock.

Static, or as he’s more commonly known as Static Shock, became popular with the Kids WB” show Static Shock which ran from 2000 to 2004. The character apparently was one of the most requested for Injustice 2 and now there is official confirmation that Static almost made the game. Marco Nelor, who is a designer and illustrator and worked on both Mortal Kombat and Injustice: Gods Among Us, posted a picture of the cut character to his Instagram yesterday, letting fans know of what could have been.

Static was available in Injustice: Gods Among Us, but it was on the mobile version of the game. His moves included creating an electric staff, shooting electricity out of finger guns, and an electric nova style attack while floating on his signature disc and using static electricity to block attacks. However, that doesn’t stop us all from wishing he was part of this reality as well and considering how close he got this time, there might be hope for him making the next round. Third times the charm right?

Have you played Injustice 2? Do you love it? Would you have loved it more if Static was in it? Let us know in the comments below!

One response to “Static Almost Made Injustice 2”

  1. Just wanna say…DC is missing a large target by not utilizing Static. The could possibly have the first Urban Super Hero movie. I get Black Lightening but he’s still an older character.
