Charlie Hunnam is no stranger to playing the hero, most recently as Arthur in Guy Ritchie’s, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.  But now the latest comes from numerous fan casts of him as one of the more popular DC Comics characters, Green Arrow.

This isn’t the first time that there have been calls for Hunnam to portray Oliver Queen in the DCEU but it is the most recent comment the actor has made in regards to the character.

While doing promo for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Brazilian website, Omelette asked Hunnam about the prospect of playing Green Arrow and he seemed open to the idea.  In response, Hunnam said:

“You know, I’m not a comic book fan so I don’t really know the Green Arrow. Do I look like him? Have they made a Green Arrow film? … Well, come on, DC, what’s up? Give me a call!”

Would you like to see Charlie Hunnam as Green Arrow if the character makes his way to the DCEU? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

This is certainly a change from his previous comments about playing a superhero. Just last March, Hunnam said to Yahoo that being a superhero was not part of his ‘vision for his career or what he aspired to be’.

With this change of heart, only time will tell what will will happen next. But for now, you can get your fill of Charlie on the big screen in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword which is in theaters now.

If Green Arrow is more your style,  you can catch Arrow Wednesdays on The CW.
