Following the massive success Deadpool and Logan, it seems 20th Century Fox will be moving forward with several of their X-Men projects.  As we said goodbye to Hugh Jackman’s signature role as Wolverine, Logan introduced a whole new cast of characters, making it the perfect segway onto the next generation.  The movie will be based on the popular same-name comic and will feature a prominent number of younger graduates from Professor Xavier’s School for the Gifted.  New Mutants, written and directed by Josh Boone, thus is reportedly set to begin filming this very summer.

As Boone works hard behind the scenes, little bits of details are slowly surfacing and providing fans with information.  For example, we can expect to see Magik, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Cannonball, Sunspot, and Warlock as they try to better control their powers while facing off villains such as Demon Bear.

It has been reported also that New Mutants will begin filming on June 4th in Massachusetts.  And even though there is less than two months until filming starts, not much has been revealed.  For instance, there have been no public announcements in regards to casting, though there have been rumors that Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and Anya Taylor-Joy (Split) may both be tied to the movie.  It is also expected that James McAvoy will resume the role of Professor X.  Still, no official announcements have been made.

20th Century Fox is aiming to release New Mutants in 2018, so hopefully as the time draws nearer, more details will be revealed.

Tell us what you think in the comments below your thoughts.  Are you excited for the New Mutants movie?  Who do you think will be cast?  Who would you want to see?
