Voice Production Starts on ‘Young Justice’ Season Three

It’s been a long wait for Young Justice fans. The show originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2011-2013 and ended with Wally West sacrificing himself to save the world.

Now it appears fans will finally get some closure. The previously announced season three return has started voice recording.

DC animation voice regular Khary Payton tweeted “& we start once more for the fallen… #YoungJustice #season3.” In Young Justice Payton is the voice of Aqualad.

Though co-creators and producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman will return for season three, it hasn’t been announced which voice cast besides Payton will be back.

Young Justice focused on the teenage superheroes of the DC universe as they were sometimes supervised by the Justice League. The team included Robin, Aqualad, Miss Martian, Kid Flash and Superboy.

Despite the four-year gap, there is not much information on season three’s storyline, characters or guests. The studio’s vague description said the show would feature “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.”

In a press release, Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series did acknowledge that it was fans’ devotion that brought the show back.

“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,” said Register. “We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”
