Gotham has shown early versions of Batman’s most well known villains including Joker, Penguin and Riddler. Now it has cast one of his most powerful nemesis’ in Ra’s al Ghul.

Game of Thrones and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Alexander Siddig has been cast as the immortal leader of the League of Shadows.

Young Bruce Wayne has spent most of the season battling the Court of Owls. Ra’s will be revealed as the group’s dangerous leader.

Ra’s al Ghul has previously appeared on screen played by Liam Neeson in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and by Matt Nable in season three of Arrow.

Siddig is set to appear on a recurring basis and will debut later in the season.

Gotham resumes season three Monday, April 24 at 8 pm ET on FOX.
