The sequel to last year’s superhero hit Deadpool has had a few hiccups over the course of pre-production, but things seem to be getting back on track for the film.

It was announced a while ago that two new mutants would be featured in this sequel: Cable and Domino. While many actors and actresses have been rumored for each role (one potential choice actually led to the film’s director leaving the project), neither has received an official casting. However, it just so happens that the internet is convinced that former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan will be playing Cable, and now it’s being reported that Twentieth Century Fox may have their eye on Scandal star Kerry Washington.

This news comes from  The Hashtag Show (via CBR), who shared what they said is a casting call from Fox for the role of Domino:

Late 20s – early 30s

Sexy, lithe and athletic

She has a witty personality.

Neena is a no-nonsense badass who rarely shows her feeling. Highly capable, supremely confident and armored in… well ARMOR… and bullet-proof sarcasm. But beneath her shell she’s still and vulnerable and some soft, beating remnant of her humanity remains intact.In this scene we need to see both sides. When she can’t get what she needs with insults, bluster and threats we need to see some of that vulnerability. It’s hard for her to let down her guard, and in the mercenary community she grew up in showing compassion is almost embarrassing. We should feel like she’d be more comfortable killing Silberman than saying “Please.”

The Hashtag show accompanied this casting call by also sharing that a source told them that before Washington was on their radar, Twentieth Century Fox wanted both Sienna Miller and Gugu Mbatha-Raw for the role. Sadly both actresses rejected the opportunity.

It’s refreshing to see that Fox has no racial preference for a character like Domino, as they shouldn’t. I mean, her character’s skin usually has a blue tint to it anyway.
