So we all know Dwayne has been confirmed for the role of Black Adam in the DCEU. In fact Johnson has been attached to play Black Adam since around 2008. A lot of things have changed since then, one big thing is that Johnson has rose to become one the biggest male actor in Hollywood. According to THR,  Johnson is set to star in his own DC movie focusing around his Character Black Adam. Don’t worry he will still be in the Shazam movie as the arch- nemesis.

The idea to give Black Adam his own movie comes from last week’s meeting Johnson had with DC Films co-head and comics author Geoff Johns, after the meeting Johnson took to social media to promise “hope, optimism & fun.”  We all know DC could use a lot more hope and fun so I’m excited for this change.

The movie reportedly will be about Black Adam being somewhat of an anti-hero. It mirrors recent developments in the DC comics written by Johns, where Adam, while still a villain, was fighting against enemies who sought to enslave his people.

I’m pretty excited for this news, I think DC could do something really cool with this story and I know Johnson will put his heart and soul into this movie. There is no writer or filmmaker attached to Black Adam.
