A few days ago, Netflix and Henry Cavill shared with the world the first few images regarding the live-action adaptation of the video game, The Witcher in anticipation of what we’re going to see this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

In the pictures, we see not only our first look at how the characters will come to life on the show, but we also get insight into what the tone and atmosphere of the show will be as a straight adaptation of the books, and not the video game per se.

According to The Witcher’s producer, the video games went one direction and the show will go in another direction – towards a more mature and dark theme.

The Witcher is coming to streaming platform Netflix as an eight-episode TV drama in late 2019, starring Henry Cavill as Geralt.
