The first trailer for The Smashing Machine has been released by A24.

Dwayne Johnson will star in the upcoming movie as Mark Kerr. The real-life mixed martial arts fighter has been the subject of documentaries due to the unpredictable twists and turns his life took. His skills on television were very important for the UFC, but Kerr also struggled with substance abuse.

The Smashing Machine will lift the curtain for audiences to take a look at what Kerr’s life was like. After starring in family-friendly stories, Dwayne Johnson will force the industry to consider him for awards recognition thanks to this movie.

The new trailer for The Smashing Machine depicts Mark Kerr training for several of his encounters. The fighter can also be seen navigating the complicated landscape of both his personal and professional relationships. As Kerr takes the spotlight, he will struggle with a wide variety of challenges that can’t be seen by his fans.

The cast of The Smashing Machine will also include Emily Blunt as Dawn Staples, Ryan Bader as Mark Coleman and Oleksandr Usyk as Igor Vovchanchyn. Nothing will stop Mark Kerr from taking his place in the history of the sport in this emotional biopic.

The Smashing Machine was written and directed by Benny Safdie. The Safdie brothers have found plenty of success with titles such as Uncut Gems and Good Times. In recent years, the filmmakers have decided to direct movies individually.

The upcoming story will be Benny Safdie’s first project after the split, with Josh taking on Marty Supreme. The acclaimed artist will be back with a sports drama that will make viewers forget everything they know about mixed martial arts. The Smashing Machine will make its way to the big screen after the summer movie season.

The Smashing Machine premieres in theaters on October 3.
