The Greatest American Hero is making its way back to our televisions, but not as people remember as ABC has approved a female-led reboot of the famous ‘80s series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show, a single-camera, half-hour comedy, will follow the story of Meera, a 30-year-old Indian-American woman whose talents include drinking tequila, signing her heart out in karaoke and… not much else, until some aliens give her a super suit to protect the planet.

The original The Greatest American Hero, who debut on ABC in 1981 and ran for three seasons, was an hour-long comedy-drama show with a white male actor (William Katt) in the lead role.

Rachna Fruchbom (writer/producer for Fresh of the Boat and writer for Parks and Recreation) will write the pilot and will serve as executive producer alongside Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat creator) Nahnatchka Khan. Also, co-producing with ABC Studios will be 20th Century Fox TV, where Khan’s Fierce Baby Productions is based.
