For 14 years and eight seasons, Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer followed the ventures of Dora, a seven-year-old Mexican girl with a penchant for exploration and travel. Through the program, an audience of children worldwide experienced lessons about the Spanish language, culture, and animals. The film, however, will feature Dora as a teenager as she moves to the city to live with her cousin, Diego, who was the star of his own Nickelodeon series (Go, Diego, Go) that ran for five seasons from 2005-2011.

Casting announcements have yet to be made.
