The Defenders, which brought together the crime-fighting superhero team consisting of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist made its Netflix debut this summer, and was one of the streaming service’s most highly-anticipated new shows.
But a recent study conducted by marketing-analytics firm, Jumpshot, revealed that the Marvel series is one of the least-viewed in its first month of release.
To do the analysis, Jumpshot created an index which benchmarked each Marvel Netflix series against the most viewed – the second season of Daredevil. Using this as the study point, Jumpshot found that The Defenders had 17% of the viewership of season two of Daredevil in the first 30 days.

As Netflix doesn’t release its viewing statistics, any of these studies must be conducted by outside parties for any indication on how a series is doing. According to Variety however, Netflix uses a time-frame longer than 30 days to assess how well their shows are doing.
The eight episode mini-series was ‘Certified Fresh‘ with a 75% critic score and an audience score of 78% from Rotten Tomatoes.
