Sinnershas sunk its teeth into the global box office. The latest project directed by Ryan Coogler walked away from its opening weekend with $63 million in the bag. The mark is impressive for an original major studio picture in this day and age, when only reboots, sequels and spinoffs seem to find luck at the box office. Sinners can potentially grow ahead of the start of the summer movie season. Despite the arrival of Thunderbolts* at the beginning of next month, the vampire movie directed by Ryan Coogler will still have this upcoming weekend to define its impressive ticket sales performance.
Sinners has a reported budget that doesn’t go beyond $100 million. That is certainly cheaper than Ryan Coogler’s previous movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. This means that the paranormal horror story has better chances of becoming profitable for Warner Bros. The director is expected to head back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future thanks to the third Black Panther installment the company is currently working on. Besides directing Sinners, Coogler also wrote the screenplay for the feature that sees Michael B. Jordan portraying two twin brothers.

Sinners follow Smoke and Stack (Michael B. Jordan), two siblings who attempt to start their own business during a time when Al Capone was still around. Their dream is cut short when Remmick (Jack O’Connell) leas his vampire clan to where the brothers are having an opening party. In the middle of the conflict, Preacher Boy (Miles Caton) discovers his passion for music.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, the vampires will turn the moment of triumph into a waking nightmare. The cast of Sinners also includes Hailee Steinfeld as Mary, Wunmi Mosaku as Annie and Delroy Lindo as Delta Slim. No one is safe in the vampire narrative that has taken over the world over the past few days.
