Netflix’s movie slate is becoming increasingly more star-driven, ambitious, and diverse. The latest flick is Bird Box with Sandra Bullock as the lead and directed by Susanne Bier (The Night Manager).
Bird Box follows a woman and a pair of children who are blindfolded and are being lead along a river in a post-apocalyptic world.
The film is based of the debut novel by Josh Malerman. Universal Pictures optioned the novel in 2013. However, producer Scott Stuber brought the film with him to Netflix after he left Universal. Eric Heisserer writer of Arrival has penned the script for Bird Box.
Production shall commence in the Fall.
