A Hulu series inspired RuPaul’s life is in development, J.J Abrams is executive producing.
“The series, currently titled “Queen,” will present a fictionalized version of RuPaul’s rise to prominence beginning in 1980’s New York up to the present day as a world-renowned drag queen and global icon for the LGBT community.”
RuPaul will also be executive producing the series with Gary Lennon who is scripting the show.
Abrams Bad Robot is also developing the series Castle Rock for Hulu, which is set in the Stephen King multi-verse. Castle Rock will be 10 episodes long.
RuPaul rose to fame in the New York club scene and had his first major break with his dance track Supermodel (You Better Work). He is now best known for his show The RuPaul Show and RuPaul’s Drag Race on VH1.
