Following a disappointing performance for Star Wars: The Last Jedi in China, Disney and Lucasfilm are taking a different approach for the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.

According to a media analyst who follows the Chinese film market, the Chinese characters for Star Wars are being removed from the film and it will be called Ranger Solo. All previous movies have included the characters for Star Wars in their titles.

According to local media Mtime, Official Chinese title of Solo: A Star Wars Story is Ranger Solo(游侠索罗). And STAR WARS(星球大战) is abandoned in Solo’s local title after Star Wars: The Last Jedi flopped in China. pic.twitter.com/FsOTZcxENW
